Exhibitions

Probably Dudley Gallery, 1874, no 596

Poynter exhibited landscape watercolours throughout his life, first in the Dudley Gallery from the 1860s and then later in the Grosvenor and the New Galleries. They are soft and atmospheric. Hardraw Force, in Wensleydale, is England's largest unbroken waterfall.
